About LCHC
Lynn Community Health Center has a long and rich history of providing excellent health care that is accessible, comprehensive and available to everyone in the Greater Lynn community, regardless of ability to pay. Our mission is to promote the health of all individuals in our community, particularly the frail, chronically ill and economically disadvantaged. The Health Center continues to be visionary in its approach to meeting the changing needs of its population. Highlights of our history include:
- We started in 1971 as a tiny storefront mental health clinic.
- We are the largest provider of outpatient care for Lynn. Each year, our patient visits increase to a new level.
- We are accreditated by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO).
- Specialty services are offered at the health center, in collaboration with North Shore Medical Center: Endocrinology, Cardiology, Pulmonology, Ophthalmology, General Surgery, Gastroenterology and Podiatry.
- In 2002, we began to offer services in West Lynn. We opened Market Square Family Health Services in 2002, and the nearby Western Avenue site in 2003. Together, they offer primary care, prenatal care, adolescent health, behavioral health and social services to the West Lynn community.
- Our Obstetrics department includes Obstetrician/Gynecologists, Family Physicians and certified Nurse Midwives. Our patients deliver their babies at North Shore Medical Center in Salem.
- Our HIV/AIDS program has had exceptional growth over the past 10 years. The most recent expansion is our Comprehensive Counseling and Testing Program, one of eight in the Commonwealth.
- Our six School Based Health Center's within the Lynn Public Schools is a place where students can get physical and mental health care and learn how to be healthy.
