Medical/Clinical Positions

Director of Behavioral Health Services

The Health Center seeks a dynamic clinical and administrative leader committed to the Health Center’s mission and to patients’ well-being to serve in the key role of Director of Behavioral Health Services.  Reporting to the Chief Behavioral Health Officer, the Director of Behavioral Health Services is a member of the senior management team and is primarily responsible for all Behavioral Health and Social Services provided at three Health Center primary care service locations and six school based health centers.  S/he will provide clinical leadership and direction to all disciplines providing behavioral health and social services, and be responsible for coordinating care with medical and nursing staff leaders. As a member of the senior leadership team, s/he will collaborate on the the continuous improvement of all clinical operations and care at the Health Center; as well as in planning, developing,  and administering financial and regulatory standards for professional integration of health care services. S/he will be accountable for optimization of third-party reimbursement for behavioral health services.  More than 40 clinical staff report to the position.  Key responsibilities include:

  • Manage and continuously improve clinical behavioral health and social services at all Health Center sites;
  • Provide leadership to Behavioral Health staff in providing high quality clinical care, maintaining patient satisfaction and maximizing revenue generation;
  • Maintain an effective collaborative working relationship with other Health Center clinical and administrative leaders;
  • Collaborate with them in planning, designing and continuously improving Health Center services, policies and quality;
  • Serve as a member of the senior management team and on several Health Center committees; and
  • Oversee and manage intern, post doc, and student training programs in collaboration with clinical supervisors.

Qualifications include:

  • A respected and talented individual with a commitment to the Health Center’s mission and the integration of behavioral health with primary care;
  • Awareness and sensitivity to the needs of the patient population;
  • Massachusetts licensure (Psychologist, Psychiatrist, Psychiatric Social Worker, or Nurse Specialist);
  • Significant post-license clinical experience in a community setting;
  • Administrative/supervisory experience in behavioral health programs; and
  • A commitment to mentoring and developing staff and trainees.

HIV Counselor, Tester and Community Health Educator
Part time – 20 Hours/Week

Part time position to provide Pre- and Post- HIV Counseling sessions at the health center, satellite clinics and testing sites, with a good portion of time spent on developing, planning and coordinate community educational activities and events around HIV/AIDs.

College Degree, (minimum of Associate Degree), with at least 2 years experience working around HIV issues. 
Must be able to communicate effectively, have excellent customer service skills, and be able to work independently.  Bilingual in Spanish preferred.

HIV Clinical Services Coordinator
NP/PA
24 Hrs/Week

HIV Clinical Services Coordinator provides direct clinical care to panel of patients with HIV, and is responsible for implementation and documentation of the HIV CQI program.

Part time position, 16 hours of patient care, 8 hours administrative time.  Duties include supervising activities of the HIV Program Nurses and case management team, and ensuring that the clinical aspects of the HIV Program meets client needs and funding requirements.

  • RN/NP/PA with current Massachusetts License
  • Masters Degree or equivalent experience in public health related field preferred.
  • Bi-lingual in Spanish beneficial.
  • HIV/AIDS related knowledge or experience.
  • Experience working with a culturally diverse population
  • Grant management and supervisory experience strongly preferred
  • CQI training and experience preferred

Director of Nursing Services

The health center seeks a dynamic clinical and administrative leader committed to the health center’s mission, cultural diversity and to patients’ well-being to serve in the key role of Director of Nursing Services.  Reporting to the CEO, the Director of Nursing Services is a key member of the senior management team and is primarily responsible for managing all nursing and ancillary staff to support the work of the primary care teams at three health center primary care service locations.  As a member of the senior leadership team, s/he will collaborate on the the continuous improvement of all clinical operations and care at the health center; as well as in planning, developing, and administering Joint Commission and quality improvement standards to ensure the delivery of high quality and cost-effective patient care. More than 50 clinical staff report to the position.  Key responsibilities include:

  • Manage and continuously improve clinical nursing and ancillary services at three primary care sites,  including assessment of staffing needs, optimization of patient flow and service quality, and implementation of systems to measure and improve performance on an ongoing basis.
  • Provide leadership, mentoring and support for professional development to nursing and clinical support staff in providing high quality clinical care, maintaining patient satisfaction and maximizing productivity and revenue generation.
  • Assure that patient care policies and procedures are written, accessible and current.
  • Maintain an effective collaborative working relationship with other health center clinical and administrative leaders.
  • Serve as a strong advocate for nursing excellence and career advancement
  • Serve as a member of the senior management team and on health center committees

Dentist

Provide general preventative and restorative services in dentistry and promote optimum oral health to children and adult patients.  Bilingual in Spanish, Khmer, or Russian helpful.  DDS/DMD with current Massachusetts license needed.

Registered Nurse
Ob/Gyn

Experienced Ob/Gyn Nurse needed to provide patient care, utilize assessment and teaching skills, and assure the provision of accessible, safe and confidential reproductive healthcare for patients.  RN tracks patients at risk, collaborates with providers, performs POC treatments, administers medications/ immunizations, and responds to the health education needs of patients.

Graduate of accredited Nursing program, current Mass. Licensure with minimum of 2 years Ob/Gyn experience.  Experience with diverse populations and bilingual in Spanish a plus.

OB Case Manager OB/Gyn

Ob Case Manager provides prenatal education and case management for pregnant and postpartum women, as well as provides support and outreach to the community through groups and /or educational classes.

Associates Degree in related field, case management experience and Family Planning Certification.

Duties:

1. Perform intake assessment
2. Make appropriate referrals to WIC, Healthy Start, VNA, Diagnostic and off-site care, Behavioral Health, etc.
3. Follow up on no-shows and abnormal labs.
4. Arrange transportation if needed.
5. Educate patients on birth control options.
6. Assist RNs in other functions as directed relating to patient care.
7. Xerox and assemble prenatal health & educational materials.
8. Assure patients have Labor & Delivery Plan and have completed paperwork for hospital admission.
9. Perform Delivery Assessment within 3 days post partum.
10. Assess need for education and referrals as needed.

RN Nursing Coordinator
Adult Medicine Team

FT RN Nursing Coordinator (Adult Medicine) to provide patient care as well as manage and supervise department clinical assistants and nursing staff.

Under the general supervision of the Director of Clinical Services, the Nursing Coordinator supervises and coordinates the nursing, clinical assisting, and case management staff.  The Nursing Coordinator works collaboratively with the Director of Operations  and the Medical Director to promote patient health by providing day-to-day management of long term planning for patient care at the site.  He/she is responsible for directing and collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary staff to assure high quality health care, which is patient centered and both culturally and age appropriate.
Previous community health or ambulatory experience needed.

Clinical Assistants
Family Practice/Adult Medicine/Ob/Gyn

FT Clinical Assistants with experience needed to work full time with primary care teams, some evening hours possible.

Duties will include assisting during procedures, taking vital signs, obtaining brief patient history, and translating.  Must be dependable, flexible, and able to work in an efficient manner providing quality care to patients.

Clinical Assistant Certificate or equivalent experience in a medical office required. 

Bilingual preferred.

Social Worker – HIV Services
20 Hours/Week

Social Worker needed to provide individual, group and partner/family support to individuals who have tested HIV positive; provide barrier free group services to those clients in order to assist in coping physically, emotionally, and socially; and upon referral of clients from health care provider, HIV Nurse, HIV Case Managers, review medical and social history, making evaluation of problems and referring clients to appropriate support group.

Bachelor’s Degree in health related field, Masters in Social Work with LCSW or Counseling preferred.

Minimum of 2 years experience with individuals and families living with HIV/AIDS.
Background in group process and facilitation.
Knowledge of HIV resources and treatments a plus
Experience working with individuals with substance abuse.

WIC Nutrition Assistant
(40 hrs/wk, including Saturdays)

Full time position available to provide nutrition services to low-risk child applicants and participants.

Provide nutrition care including:
Anthropometric and hematological data collection
Dietary and nutritional risk assessment
Food package assignment
Counseling and education
Documentation and nutrition data entry
Health and social service referrals
Follow-up nutrition education

High school diploma or GED required, with at least 1 year experience in health care field as counselor, educator, clinical assistant, outreach worker, or home health aide.  Interest in nutrition or health care.  Good communication skills, in both oral and written English, and sensitivity to patient population. 

Bilingual in Spanish, and reliable transportation required.  Position requires every Saturday and Monday evenings.

WIC Nutritionist
(40 hrs/wk, including Saturdays)

Full time position available to provide nutrition services to high-risk women, infants and children under supervision of the Senior Nutritionist.

Perform nutrition assessment and certification, counseling, nutrition education and referrals for WIC applicants and participants; Develop educational materials for demonstrations, audio-visual presentations or other educational activities for participants; Collect anthropometric and hematological data; Provide follow-up nutrition education to high-risk participants; Participates in outreach activities for high risk populations;
Available to work at multiple sites..

Bachelor's degree in public health nutrition, nutrition, food and nutrition; RD preferred. Excellent communication skills, in both oral and written English, and sensitivity to patient population.

Bilingual in Spanish a plus, and transportation required.
Position requires every Saturday.

Behavioral Health Assistant
(6 Hours/Week)

Individuals needed to provide behavioral interventions and training under the direct supervision of the HIP Program Director to identified children and their families referred by the North Shore Area office of DMR.  Responsibilities include data collection and documentation, and adherence to LCHC and DMR rules, regulations and guidelines for conduct with consumers.

Prefer college undergraduate in human services with strong interest in working with developmentally disabled children and their families.  Experience and proficiency in implementation of Applied Behavior Analysis clinical treatment plans needed.

Non-Clinical Positions

Facility Manager

Facility Manager is responsible for the overall maintenance, operation, and repair of LCHC facilities.

Oversee and assure LCHC facilities are maintained in a safe and complaint manner in relation to local regulations and JCAHO standards. Responsible for hiring/supervising maintenance/security staff.

Coordinates and monitors, outside maintenance and facility-related vendors including electricians, plumbers, etc. Investigates facility complaints and problems, develops policies and procedures and monitors compliance.

College Degree and/or equivalent experience/training in facility management and building and maintenance trades. Must have excellent communication, organization, leadership and computer skills. Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations with good judgment. Ability to make minor building and equipment repairs, and assess need for more extensive repair. Must have valid driver's license and be available on-call 7 days a week to respond to emergencies.

Reception/Appt Team Leader
Evenings and Saturdays

He/She acts as the Administrative supervisor for evenings and Saturdays, as well as functions as Recep/Appt Clerk in one of the medical departments.   The Team Leader ensures that the Recep/Appt Clerk staff and all of the functions related to the front desk flow smoothly during the evening and Saturday clinic hours. This includes ensuring that patients are registered and checked-in in a timely manner, insurance coverage and all demographic information is verified, telephones are answered promptly and messages handled appropriately and all other non-clinical tasks are carried through in support of the clinical providers.

  • High School Graduate or equivalent
  • Previous reception and/or clerical support experience, preferably in a medical setting.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Prior experience working with a culturally diverse population
  • Experience in a leadership role preferred
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish  preferred

Dental Reception/Appointment Clerk
Full time

FT position available to provide front desk support at the Dental Clinic. 

Duties include answering telephone, taking accurate and complete messages for other staff, scheduling appointments, record-keeping, filing, verifying insurance information, recording accurate billing information for patients, and billing activities. 

Must have excellent customer service skills, computer proficiency; knowledge of professional office practices, ability to maintain confidentiality, excellent communication skills, professional demeanor and good judgment. 

Prior experience in dental or medical office is desired.  Knowledge of dental terminology and understanding of insurance billing preferred.

Bilingual preferred.

Reception/Appointment Clerk Evenings

Full time (40 hrs/wk) front desk receptionist/appointment clerk needed for busy medical department during evening hours.

Duties include scheduling appointments, greeting and registering patients, answering phones, checking insurance eligibility, data entry and translation as needed.

Must have a High School Diploma or GED. Have good communication and customer service skills, be reliable, efficient, and able to maintain calm in a busy environment.

Bilingual in Spanish needed.

Medical Records Clerk
40 Hrs/Week - 9:30 a.m.-6:00 p.m.

Full time position available in Medical Records Department. Duties include: scanning, filing medical records, working with Electronic Medical Records system to print out and copy medical record information for patients and outside facilities.

Medical office experience a plus. High School graduate or equivalent GED.

Must have good customer service skills, be dependable, flexible, able to work independently, and have a clear understanding of the importance of patient confidentiality.

Enrollment Coordinator

Full time position available to provide assistance to uninsured and underinsured clients of the health center in obtaining insurance for medical care. 

Screens and assesses clients for insurance and benefit program eligibility.  Provides flexible assistance and support in enrollment processes, according to each consumer’s needs and preferences.

Must be organized and able to communicate effectively, have experience with insurance enrollment systems, and be knowledgeable about the health needs of the community health center population. 

Bilingual in Russian/Armenian required.

Grants Manager

Under the direction of the Chief Financial Officer, the Grants Manager is responsible for developing and implementing systems for preparation of appropriate budgets for grant and contract supported programs at the health center, preparing financial reports, budget and contract amendments for new and existing funding sources, and collaborating with program leaders to assure the timely submission of program and financial information as required by funding sources.  The Grants Manager collaborates with program leaders to identify additional funding sources.

1.  Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration with related experience.
2.  Prior experience with computer systems and Microsoft software applications required.
3.  At least 2 years administrative experience in budgeting, financial reporting, community health programs or equivalent combination of education and experience.
4. Demonstrated effective collaboration capabilities.
5. Sensitivity to the needs of the client population

Development Associate

Organized individual needed to provide administrative support to the Director of Development.

Duties include:  maintaining donor records; gift processing and acknowledgement; participating in the development and implementation of Annual Appeal; participating in the planning and implementation of special events; coordinating Annual Meeting for 200 staff and board members; overseeing the health center’s Reach Out and Read Program including reporting, inventory tracking, and volunteer recruitment, training, and scheduling; assist in the production and distribution of marketing materials; provide administrative support to ensure the continuous, efficient, and smooth operation of the Development office.

Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and database management, attention to detail and commitment to quality, ability to work independently and as a member of a team, ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines, commitment to customer service, and experience in development, marketing, or public relations preferred.
