The Women, Infants and Children (WIC) Nutrition Program provides free, nutritious foods, health screenings and health information, and referrals to other agencies.
Pregnant and postpartum women and families with children 0–5 years of age can participate in the WIC program. You must be a Massachusetts resident to qualify.
WIC recognizes diversity within the structure of families and is open to any caregiver of a child/children under the age of 5. Fathers, mothers, grandparents, step-parents, foster parents & other legal guardians of children under 5 can all apply for WIC.

New: WIC Apps for your SmartPhone, tablet, or computer!
With the WIC Shopper Mobile App you can view your current benefits, check in “real time” if the foods you are shopping for are eligible, access healthy recipes, and find a store that accepts the WIC Card. You need a smartphone to use this app, which can be found on Android Apps, Google Play, and iTunes.
WIC Smart Online Nutrition Education is a resource for caregivers of infants and children 9 months and up. WIC participants can complete required nutritional education classes assigned to them by their nutritionist online, at their convenience. You can access WIC Smart from your desktop or laptop computer, or you can visit your app store and get the app for your smartphone or tablet.

What is Baby Café?
Lynn Community Health Center’s Baby Café is a free drop-in center offering breastfeeding support and assistance from professionals and other moms—all in a relaxed atmosphere.
Originating in England, the Baby Café model has been so successful that there are now more than 100 Baby Café Centers around the world!

All pregnant or breastfeeding women are welcome to drop in at any time during opening hours. Refreshments will be available.
Help with every aspect of breastfeeding
Help is available on all aspects of breastfeeding and its impact on daily life – from starting to stopping and all the variations in between. In our relaxed, informal atmosphere you can:
- Chat with other moms and build your confidence.
- Get one-to-one help from specially trained staff
- Look at books, leaflets and DVDs
- Enjoy some tasty refreshments

Breastfeeding Peer Counseling Program
Breastfeeding Peer Counselors are mothers in the community with personal breastfeeding experience who provide information and support to other mothers. They understand the joys and challenges of breastfeeding, and how to overcome barriers.
Who are the WIC Breastfeeding Peer Counselors?
They are non-judgemental
They work with each mother to best meet her baby’s needs
They treat mothers with respect and dignity and are concerned with their feelings
They show mothers how to avoid potential problems, and how to overcome those they encounter
Who can see a WIC Breastfeeding Peer Counselor?
You need to receive WIC services to participate in the Breastfeeding Peer Counseling program.
Our Breastfeeding Peer Counselors support women through pregnancy, new motherhood, going back to work, and weaning. They are available for support at all stages of breastfeeding.
Breastfeeding Peer Counselors offer both individual counseling and support groups.
