2020 Women for Lynn Community Health Center Recognition Breakfast
This event is cancelled
Due to the COVID-19 Crisis, this event is cancelled but we need your support more than ever.
Message from the CEO
In response to the COVID 19 pandemic, we are cancelling our Women for LCHC Recognition Breakfast scheduled for April 30. While the Breakfast is cancelled, the need is not. We need your help NOW more than any other time in our history.
Lynn Community Health Center, true to our mission, is the first line of defense for our community. Over the past three weeks we have radically transformed our health center in preparation for a steep increase in patients infected with COVID-19 while continuing to provide preventive care and disease management for those who need it. It is not business as usual. We triage every patient who arrives at the health center. Those who exhibit symptoms or who have been in contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19 are diverted to a special clinic in our health center where they are assessed and cared for.
Our goal is to keep as many patients as possible healthy and out of the hospital, conserving limited inpatient beds for those who need them the most. To achieve this goal, we have rapidly scaled up telehealth medicine. Most patient encounters are now telephone or video conference—to date 90% of our behavioral health visits and 30% of our medical visits are virtual. This allows half of our workforce to work more safely from home, with our medical staff physically rotating in and out of the health center. They are the real heroes of this crisis—serving those most vulnerable in our community with courage and dedication at great risk to themselves and their families.
This transformation has depleted vital resources. Patient encounters have dropped sharply as both patients and providers move to a new patient experience.
Our popular Women’s Breakfast is our main fundraiser for the year and these funds are needed more than ever before. I humbly ask that you consider a gift in lieu of a ticket, and to give as generously as possible. You can make a donation online or by mail using the RSVP card in your mailed invitation.
For those of you who have already purchased a ticket or sponsorship we express our deepest appreciation. We hope that you will consider making these purchases an outright donation to LCHC. That being said, we understand that these are precarious times for many. If you would like a refund, please contact us to make arrangements.
An Event happens because of all the behind the scenes help we receive from community volunteers. Please reach out and thank those you know on our Event and Host Committees who step up every time we ask.
Finally, we owe a debt of gratitude to our Honorees Christina Severin, CEO of Community Care Cooperative (C3) who is presently working tirelessly on the behalf of Community Health Centers during this crisis; and Phyllis Sagan, Sagan Harborside Sotheby’s International Realty, who is a cornerstone of our philanthropic community. Please join us in thanking them.
It is hard to predict what will happen in the coming weeks, but it is my hope and belief that our dedicated team will meet challenges and overcome obstacles with courage and determination. Thank you in advance for your support for them, and for those in our community who need them the most.
